Tropical Chic in Gold
I was surfing Pinterest and saw fellow demonstrator Traci Hewelett’s Striped Treat Bag, and new I wanted to make this into a card!
After I was done creating my card using the Gold Foil Sheets which I cut into 3/4″ strips and added to my 4-1/2″ X 5-3/8″ piece of Thick Whisper Cardstock layer, I thought it would have been just as easy to have cut up the actual Striped Treat Bag and used it as my DSP background paper.
I have these cute flamingo pillows sitting on my two white rocking chair on my porch, and I thought it would make a cool background on my card, so I added it to my background. 🙂
Not sure you can tell from my photos, but I used Watercolor Paper to stamp my Floral Images with some Melon Mambo Classic Ink, then used my Aqua Painter to spread the color around, and since Melon Mambo is such a vibrant color, I used a paper towel to “remove” some of the color from my flower to create a bit more dept.
Before I used the coordinating Tropical Thinlits dies to cut out my floral images, I added some detail with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers to the centers of the flowers.
I cut the Foliage Frame piece with the Gold Foil Sheets which is underneath the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Love What You Do Stamp Set, inked with Versamark, then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I popped it up with some Dimensionals. I used some Granny Apple Green Inked on my leaf images, however, before I stamped it, I did a little rock-n-roll technique with some Coastal Cabana Classic Ink. I cut some palm leaves with the Gold Foil Sheets for some additional bling, and then added a strip of the Gold Mini Sequin and Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the card as well.
Now it’s your turn to go create something fun and beautiful, then mail it on its way. You are sure to make someone’s day.
