I made this card for a very special boy who has stolen my heart, in a good way. He is 6 years old and his name is Nathan………"Nate the Great" as Momma Beth calls him. Let me just say Nate is the sweetest young boy you would ever want to meet, besides being a handsome one too.
Well, poor little Nate had to have surgery this week, and he was such a trooper I just had to make him a special "get well card":
Aren't those tractors and truck adorable? It's from the stamp set "I dig you", and the sentiment is from the Beary Wishes stamp set, I added Mr. Bear on the window of the truck to hold out the get well banner, so I thought the sentiment went well with the bear…..get it?
As you can see I stamped the truck and tracker twice with Versamark. One on old olive cardstock and the other on more mustard cardstock, then heat embossed one with clear embossing powder and our heat tool. I stamped again on basic black cardstock only the wheels, then heat embossed again with clear embossing powder over the versamark. I cut each one seperately and then added the tires to the bottom of the tracker and truck. I used some non-SU eyelets for the wheels, and a toothpick for the pole to hold the banner.
There are 3 little critters in the set, a giraffe, a bunny, and a bear, I stamped them on soft suede cardstock with versamark, used clear embossing powder and my heat tool. So I cut each one out seperately (they come together on one stamp) and added them to a vehicle.
Anywho, this sweet young boy should be receiving his card by tomorrow at home, even though I don't believe he will be released from the hospital until Thursday, March 22nd.
I would ask you to please send up a little prayer for a speedy recovery. I know his parents and the rest of us who love Nathan would appreciate it.
Until the next time, remember to hug the ones you love, none of us are promised "tomorrow"!
