Emboss Resist Challenge

My Upline challenged our team to create an emboss resist card.  Well, she said we had the month of May to complete the challenge.  Well do ya think I waited til the last minute?  Ugh!!

Anywho, here is the card I came up with today.  I had it in my head all month, but just got around to doing the challenge today.

Emboss Resist 1
So I took some Whisper White cardstock, stamped the "Field Flowers" stamp set on it using Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush (last day to use Concord Crush as of tomorrow is gone…sigh), and the little bulb thing, I have no idea what it's called, is in Crumb Cake and Soft Sude.

Then I took the fabulous "En Francis" Stamp set, inked it up with Versamark and stamp it over the entire piece.  I then sprinkled it with some clear embossing powder, and ran my heat tool on it.  Now I took a sponge inked up with crumb cake and started in the center of the card, and gently rubbed the ink in, then swapped over to another ink sponge with a bit of Wisteria Wonder, and lastly the another sponge with Not Quite Navy Ink and ran it through the edges, for a bit more of a vintage look.

Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (cut at 4X5 1/4"), ran it through the Tulip Embossing Folder.  Sponged the edges with more Crumb Cake ink.  I took a piece of Concord Crush cardstock (again, sigh, gone as of tomorrow) cut it at 5 1/2 X 4 1/4" and folded it in half.  Used a piece of our Chantilly Ribbon (sigh again for the last time) and then a piece of our luscious Concord Crush Poly Ribbon (yes, yet another sigh, gone too), and made a bow without tying it in the center.  Took one of my "favorite" Antique Brads and wrapped it around the bow to create a "faux bow".  Added some glue dots and added to the card.  Put all the layers together and there you have it.

I intenionally left off a sentiment so I can use it for pretty much anything when I need it.  Thanks for visiting me, and thank you for your sweet comments!  Stay tuned, blog candy coming soon… 🙂

Until the next  time, remember to hug the ones you love, none of us are promised "tomorrow"!
