A dear friend is having a very tough time with illness right now. Not only is she dealing with cancer, but also with fluid building up in her lungs, she can't walk 3 steps without giving out of breath. Breaks my heart. I decided to make her a card, because that is what I "love" to do, and I love my friend.
My sweet friends name is Lolly, and she loves the Lord, and He is her ROCK! I can't imagine life without my Lord and Savior, and I am go glad she loves him too.
My watercoloring is not so good, but I am working on it. I wanted the sentiment to really stand out, and I decided to "mask" the are where my sentiment would go (I used some Post-It-Note tape), to ensure it was obvious I was thinking and praying for my friend. I tried really hard to take a picture that would allow you to see I used the Wink of Stella on the card, and I felt it really made the color pop.
The stamp set I used was one I have neglected for quite a while, Falling Flowers. I know I could have added lots more dimension by using the matching dies, however, for whatever reason, I decided not too. The did emboss the larger flowers with white embossing powder, and then colored them in with Sweet Sugarplum and Wisteria Wonder. The small flowers are stamped with Daffodil Delight and the leaves with Wild Wasabi.
I do believe my friend with enjoy knowing she is in my thoughts and prayers, and that I think of her often. Have you sent someone a card lately? I make it a point to send out at least 2 per week minimum. So many folks out there who are hurting, lonely, sick, scared, you name it. I feel a card, a call, a visit, anything we can do to let them know they are important in this crazy world is worth it's weight in gold. I know it means a great deal to me when friends take some time out of their busy day to think of me, and I get over the moon excited when I receive a card in the mail.
