I'm back with a fun share. I rarely used Melon Mambo (not sure why either, because I really love the color), but this card absolutely called for it, check it out.
Isn't this such a fun card? I am going to miss our Cucumber Crush cardstock, and I think it helps make this card really pop with color. Have you checked out the sneak peek of the 3 new upcoming In-Colors? Yes, can you say looooovvvveee!
I had mentioned on one of my previous posts, I have decided to make at least 3-4 cards when I create a card, just to be sure I have plenty on hand when the need arises. And why not? I have everything out and ready to go, so making 4 is just as easy as making 4.
These may have taken just a bit longer than normal because of the cute fussy cutting involved. I love to fussy cut, so it was actually relaxing for me. I didn't fussy cut in between the flamingos legs, instead I added a banner with the sentiment there. What do you think?
I stamped the inside of the cards with the leave and flaming as well. Oh, I didn't include them in the picture, but I did the same thing with the envelope. All coordinated…..I love it! Ok, here are the details for this card.
The Details:
Cucumber Crush Cardstock 5-1/2" X 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Whisper White Cardstock 4" X 5-1/4" (inside of card), 1-1/4" X 2-3/4" (for sentiment), scrap pieces to stamp and cut the flaming, leaves, and sentiment
Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper: 1-1/2" X 5-1/2"
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Melon Mambo Classic Ink Pads, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
Additional items: Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, Gold Sequin Trim, Stampin' Dimensionals, Fast Fuse adhesive, Duet Banner Punch
Stamp Set: Pop of Paradise, Thoughtful Banners, and Iconic Occasions (for the sentiment)
Stamp the cardbase with Cucumber Crush and the large leaf in the set. I went up about 3/4" from the bottom of the base. Stamp and fussy cut the flaming, and leaves on some Whisper White cardstock scraps. I inked up the flaming in Melon Mambo (the body only), then used the Stampin' Write Marker to add the black legs. I used Cucumber Classic Ink to the stamp the leaves.
Here's a fun TIP: before I fussy cut the flaming, I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color in the beak, and closed eye for some definition.
I added the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper about 3/4" from the bottom of the cardbase with fast fuse. Next I added the leaves with Fast Fuse, then popped up the flamingo with dimensionals.
I stamped the banner, and then sentiment on the 1-1/4" X 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, and used the Dual banner punch. Before I added the sentiment, I used a bit of Fast Fuse to the side of the legs and here a 3" piece of Gold Sequin Trim. I added a dimensionals to each side of the banner (nothing in the center), and added it over the leg area of the flamingo.
I took several sequin off the 3" piece of Gold Sequin I had cut, and added them to the card for some added bling.
TIP: After trimming my Gold Sequin Trim to the size I want, I add some Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue to the last sequin on each side of my piece to keep the rest from "slipping out".
Lastly, I stamped the leaf and flamingo to the Whisper White 4" X 5-1/4" piece of cardstock and adhered it to the inside of my card…..boom…..your done!
"Blessings, and until the next time, remember to hug the ones you love, "none of us are promised tomorrow!

Fun and pretty….love the gold sequins!
