Fabulous Flamingo

I pulled out my new Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set for my local Team Swap I have coming up this Saturday.  It reminded me of Summer!

And of course, I used some of the returning Glossy Cardstock.  It literally makes the color "pop off" the page.  They are vibrant and rich, perfect for a fun Summer card.

Ticked Pink 2

I didn't need to make as many for my local Luv2stampinGa Team Meeting as I did for my long distance team swap, but I wouldn't have minded if I did, this card came together quickly and easily!

Ticked Pink 4

Can you see how the colors just Pop on this Glossy Cardstock?  I just love it!  Below are the details for this card, but I also wanted to share the new "Mini Stampin' Dimensionals", which I combined with our regular Stampin' Dimensionals for this card.

Ticked Pink 1

As you can see from the above photo, I used both dimensionals which comes in very handy when creating cards.  Also, I literally use "all" the skeletons of the regular (and will for the minis as well) dimensionals.  I just use my paper snips to cut up the edges and use every last bit!

Recipe:

Flirty Flamingo Cardstock – 8-1/2" X 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Glossy Cardstock – 4" X 5-1/4", second scrap piece
Whisper White Cardstock – Scrap piece for sentiment
Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set
Flirty Flaming, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, and Versamark ink pads
Whisper White Embossing Powder
Stampin' Heat Tool

Cut and score Flirty Flaming cardbase, set aside.

Using the Glossy Cardstock, take a sponge (I used some sponge daubers), with the Pool Party Ink Pad, gently run the dauber across the bottom of the Glossy cardstock layer, about 1" from the bottom.  Using the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set, the water stamp, ink up with Pool Party Ink, and stamp right over the area you just sponged.

Using the Versamark Ink Pad, stamp the Flamingo legs and body from the stamp set, add some Whisper White Embossing Powder, and using the Stampin' Heat Tool, emboss!  While you are stamping the flaming on the card layer, go ahead and stamp just the body of the Flamingo on a scrap piece of Glossy Cardstock too.  I always love the effect.  Cut out the Flamingo body with your paper snips.  Now take your Aqua Painter, or small paint brush, and using the Flirty Flamingo Ink pad, color the Flamingo in……I love this part too.  Adhere the body with Stampin' Dimensionals to the Flamingo on your card layer.

Using the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad the Large Leaf stamp, ink up and stamp as shown on the photos.  Do the same with the Grass Stamp from the same set.

Now that you have the Flamingo, and greenery ready, using the same sponge you used with the Pool Party Ink, lightly, sponge around the flamingo to give him depth, and add a little light sky ink the background.

Stamp the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad on a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock, cut it out as shown, flag the ends too.  Adhere to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and you are done!  How easy is that?!
