Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Designer Series Paper Sweaters

Hubby and I were out and about yesterday running errands after church.  We decided to grab a bit to eat.  Now let me tell you something about me, I stay cold, which is why I love the Summer!!  Let me just say Hypothyroidism (I know some of you can relate).  This little disease has come in handy with my Menopause because I don’t get hot flashes….yay!

Now because of this I always ensure I have a sweater or something to throw over my shoulders because most restaurants are entirely too cold for me.  I saw a nice “older” woman with a gorgeous white seater in the restaurant and a lightbulb went off in my head!  Then when I put together the girl sweater, I thought why not a guy sweater too, right?.  Ha!

Let’s start with the Masculine Sweater Card today.  I refiled through my 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog for Designer Series Paper.   I remembered when I saw the woman’s sweater I immediately thought of the  Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Designer Series Paper.  What I didn’t think is I would also see something for a guy sweater.  But yes, I thought this piece would do just nicely.  What do you think?  Now mind you my husband would “never” wear a yellow sweater, but I have seen gentlemen wear this color before, so I thought why not, let’s go with it.  It’s still the Summer here in Georgia, and yellow is a great Summer color, so I went with it.

I added lots of little dots with my Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the DSP.  I added the DSP to a piece of 3-3/4″ X 5-1/4″ Daffodil Delight Cardstock.   I added this piece to an regular A2 base of 4/14″ x 11″ Thick Whisper White Cardstoc, which I scored at 5-1/2″.  Now, we have this awesome new Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder coming to you soon (September 5th, 2018), and this is what I used to add some dimension to the collar and bottom band.  However, if you still have the old style Crimper, this will work great!  Another you can do until you get your hands on this wonderful EF is score on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using your Stampin’ Trimmer every 1/8″.

I decided my masculine sweater needed a pocket, so I cute a 1″ X 1″ piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock, and snipped off two of the corner.  I sponged the pocked with some Daffodil Delight Classic Ink, and stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty  Greetings Stamp Set with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used the marker because the sentiment was too long the way it was, so I inked up the happy first, stamped it, cleaned off my stamp, then inked up the birthday, and then stamped it, worked perfect.   I popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and I called it done!

By the way, I always show my hubby the cards I am creating before I blog them.  He told me flat out the female version of the card was not his favorite, and I am ok with that, because I appreciate his candor.  He is my biggest fan and gentlest critic, yep I adore him!  I decided to go ahead and leave the “original” card I created here for you, and then revamp it, so you can see the before and after.

I want to thank you so very much for visiting my blog today, I truly appreciate you stopping by because I know how busy our days are!  For your convenience I have included all the products I used on today’s project and you can also download the supply list if this works better for you.
