Buffalo Check now a Plaid!

I didn’t have a “plaid” piece of Designer Series Paper that I could use to create a not so spooky Halloween type card, so I decided to create my own!

The New Buffalo Check Background Stamp currently available in the 2018 Holiday Catalog was perfect to get my base started.  I used Mossy Meadow Classic Ink to create the base on some Whisper White Cardstock.  I used my Stamparatus (I adore my new positioning tool) to stamp the Buffalo Check pattern, and the beauty is if it doesn’t stamp 100%, I just ink it up again and walla, a perfectly stamped image!  I can’t tell you how many cards this has saved for me!

I will have the card details for you at the bottom of my post.

And if using the Stamparatus wasn’t enough, you know have the ability to purchase additional accessories for your Stamparatus.

So here is one of the panels I used on my card.  By the way, can you stand the bling on this card?!!  WoooooooWeee!  I love it.  Both on the Glittered Black Organdy Ribbon, and on the cardstock using the awesome Champagne Mist Paint and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol I mixed into one of our Stampin’ Spritzer.  Gosh I love it!

My cards are almost the same, except the way I used the ribbon.  Which one do you prefer?  I always show my hubby the projects I create and asked him which was his preference, he said he could not decide, hmmm.

Will you help me out and tell me which one is your favorite?  I would appreciate it, sometimes you just need someone else’s opinion.

So how did I create the Plaid look?  I first stamped the Buffalo Check Stamp Set using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink, then using my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers, (brush tip side) and a straight edge ruler, I drew lines from top to bottom.  Next using my Black Stampin’ Write Marker (fine tip side), and a straight edge ruler I drew lines again top to bottom, then across as shown in the picture above.

  1. I love all of your work. In the two cards above, o line the first card the best, the one with the ribbon vertical.

  2. Lovely card–thanks for sharing!

  3. Super cool idea with the Buffalo Check stamp. I think I like the first card, ribbon in the portrait direction. But both are awesome!
