Most Wonderful Time of the Year
So I finally sat down to get all of my Christmas cards stuffed, labeled, postage, and sent in the mail. Just as I was getting to the end of my list, I found out I was short. I had a few more bits left over from the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Medley left over, so I decided to use it up.
I had run out of the tree stickers which are included in the kit, so I decided to stamp the tree which is included in the kit on some Thick Whisper White Cardstock in Old Olive Classic Ink. I cut the tree out with the tree die “included” in the kit. I used my Wink of Stella and a few Old Olive Reinker drops I added to the lid of my ink pad, I proceeded to add some color to the inside of my tree.
This card is a fun fold type card, which is simply cut at 5-1/2″ X 8-1/2″, I trimmed off 1-1/4″ from the card front on the right, then added the Designer Series Paper included in the kit to the front of my card base, and then a coordinating 1-1/4″ piece of DSP to the “inside” panel of my card. It creates some fun interest and contrast.
I used the same layout as the card I shared above, I stamped the sentiment using the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, and it fit perfectly in on my die cut sentiment piece, again part of the dies included in this amazing kit!
Here is a peek at what the inside looks like. Again I used the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set on the inside using Real Red Classic Ink.
As you can see I popped up the sticker deer from the kit on my project. I used my embossing buddy to remove the stickiness from the back of the deer, then added my dimensionals. The reason I like to remove the sticky off the back instead of just adding dimensionals is when the card is mailed all the sticky areas on the sticker will stick to the card and look lopsided when the recipient receives it. A little extra step makes a big difference.
On this card, I used my Old Olive Cardstock, stamped the snowflakes from the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set with Old Olive Classic Ink for some tone-on-tone interest.
I stamped the presents with Real Red Classic Ink and the bows with my retiring Golden Glitz Ink Pad. I used the coordinating dies included in the kit to cut out the presents then added them to my project, the back two gifts were added with only Liquid Multipurpose Glue, and the last gift in the center front was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
