Painted Poppies
A customer commissioned me to create several different cards, so I got busy. I started with some thank you, and grateful cards. This project uses the Painted Poppies, Buffalo Check, and Ornate Thanks Stamp Sets, as well as the Poppy Moments and Stitched Nested Dies.
I started with a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I stamped a 4″ X 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Buffalo Check Stamp Set with some Daffodil Delight Classic Ink with my Stamparatus. I adhered this panel to the front of my Thick Whisper White card base with my Stampin’ Seal+ Adhesive.
I stamped a 4-1/2 X 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Painted Poppies Stamp Set with some Poppy Parade Classic Ink (I used what I call the “blotch stamp”). I used the coordinating open Poppy Moments Dies to cut the blotch.
I used the smallest of the Poppy Moments flower Dies to cut out three of the smallest poppy flowers with some on a 4-1/2 X 2-1/2″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used some Granny Apple Green cardstock to cut out the leaves and stamped them with some Pear Pizzazz ink using the smallest of the blotchy stamps.
I cut the 2nd from the largest Stitched Nested Dies with some Basic Black Cardstock, and stamped the greeting from the Ornate Thanks stamp set with some Versamark, then heat embossed it with some White Stampin’ Emboss powder and Heat Tool. I stamped the second greeting on my project on a piece of 1/2″ X 2-1/4″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock with some Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I also cut those cute little stamens with some Basic Black Cardstock.
I added all the stamped and cut pieces to the front of my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, except for the leaves, which were added with the Stampin’ Seal+ Adhesive.
As always, no card is complete for me until I finish the inside. This one was simply stamped with the poppy outline with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then filled in using the Painted Poppies blotch stamp and some Poppy Parade Classic ink.
