Awesomely Artistic

My fabulous and beautiful daughter recently celebrated a birthday.  I decided to use one of the first stamp sets I purchased when the new catty was released this year, Awesomely Artistic.  The flowers, dragonfly, grunge spot, and ferns just spoke to me.  I used this same stamp set as one of my Stamp Club cards a few weeks ago as well.  I think it's such a sweet and versatile stamp set.

My daughter loves "pink", so I went with Melon Mambo, Whisper White, and some Rich Razzleberry for the fussy cut Dragon Flies.  I used the technique called "Triple Time Stamping".

Mo birthday 7_25_15 2I must say, I adore our wonderful "paper snips", they make fussy cutting so easy peasy.  They cut like "buttah", even making the rounded edges just look so smooth.

I added some additional dragon flies on the inside, and our fabulous and, oh so easy to tie  1/4" Cotton  Melon Mambo ribbon to bring the whole thing together.

Product List

The dimensions are as follows:

Whisper White

2" x 3-1/4"
3" x 4-1/4"
4" x 5-1/4"

Melon Mambo

2-1/4" x 3-1/2"
3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (fold for card base)

Take all the Whisper White pieces of cardstock in smallest to largest order. I use the tiniest bit of snail to hold the layers together so they don't move while I stamp.

Stamp your flowers on the Whisper White Cardstock. Wait a few seconds to ensure they don't smear. Pull the pieces apart.

Fold the 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock in half using your bone folder to ensure a crisp fold, set aside. Now layer the pieces using Fast Fuse to secure each layer. So your next layer is the Whisper White 4" X 5 1/4" inked piece (do not adhere this piece until the very end to the largest piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, as you want to add the ribbon around the back of the Whisper White piece, and ensure you can't see it around the back of the completed card), then the next Melon Mambo 3 1/4" X 4 1/2". Then back to the Whisper White 3" X 4 1/4", and so on. You will finish by placing the smallest piece of Whisper White 2" X 3 1/4" on the very top.

Wrap a piece of the 1/4" Cotton Ribbon around the front of the largest Whisper White piece of cardstock and adhere to the back with Fast Fuse (love this stuff). Add all the layers to the Folded piece of 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Melon Mambo cardstock you had previously set aside. Add a small piece of the ribbon to the front of the card and tie a knot. I like to add a glue dot to the back of the knot to keep it from moving.

Stamp your sentiment on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and punch with the Large Oval Punch.

Stamp 3 dragon flies (one for the inside of the card) on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, and fussy cut them with your paper snips.

Add dimensionals to the sentiment and dragon flies and adhere to the card. You're done!
