So I arrived home from work today, I work at Downtown Atlanta, Ga, and one of the first things I saw on my desk was my fabulous May 2017 My Paper Pumpkin kit which I had not touched……..E Gad! Well, I had to take care of that right away!
Yes, Stampin' Up has a tutorial with instructions on You Tube on a monthly basis, so I didn't feel the need to share the cards you can make with the May 2017 kit, but I did want to share an alternative card. Donuts, and sprinkles screamed Shaker Card to me!
Look at those yummy little sprinkles! Yes, you guessed correctly, they are from the 2017 Occasions Catalog Cool Treats Suite. The Washi tape on the card is also from the same Suite. Stinkin' sweet, in many ways.
I also added some sprinkles to the "frosting" on the donut, haha! Here's how I put this together. I used the Frosting donut wrong, and placed it over some scrap Soft Suede Cardstock and traced it with a pencil. Next, I took my paper snips and cut out the donut. Using one of our Layering Circle Framelits I cut out the center (so it looked pretty, but you can so use your scissors to cut it out as well). Next, I trimmed down the pink frosting piece, ensuring I created some waves around the edges.
Next, using our window sheets, I cut a piece that fit the donut hold, added some Tear & Tape around the donut hold, added the Window Sheet, and then using the Foam Adhesive Strips I created a circle around the donut hole. I added the Sprinkles Embellishments to the center, removed the release paper from the Foam Adhesive Strip, and used another piece of scrap Very Vanilla Cardstock, and placed it over the top of the embellies to hold them in. Added a few more piece of Foam Adhesive Strips around the back of the donut, and adhered to Very Vanilla Cardstock base. Also, "before" I adhered the donut onto the card base, I added a piece of Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape to the left side of the card. Stamped the sentiment on a piece of 1/2" X 3-3/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and using some Fast Fuse Adhesive secured it on the donut. Lastly, (I promised this is it), I took some additional sprinkles and some Tombow Multi-Liquid Adhesive to adhere some additional sprinkles to the frosting…..done!
