A Beautiful You Retirement Card

A fellow team member is retiring this month, and I was asked to create a card for her, and I wanted it to be something special, as Karen is a sweetheart and will be sorely missed.  I decided on the Beautiful You Stamp Set because of this image, I felt it conveys beauty, and a free feeling, like “Yay, I am retiring” !!!  Well, at least I believe this is how I would feel about retirement…. 🙂

I have a downloadable FREE PDF tutorial for you, with measurements and instructions at the end of this post.

So in addition to wanting the card to be pretty, I wanted it to be unique, and felt the Double Z-Fold technique would work beautifully here.  I also knew I wanted to use the beautiful new Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the gorgeous Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.

The Double Z-Fold looks gorgeous, but is so easy to create, so it’s a win-win in my book.  As you can see here in the photo, I raised up the out panel in the front with some fun foam, to create some major lift.  First I die cut the top panel with the largest oval from the Layer Ovals Dies and then did the same to a smaller piece of fun foam.  I adhered them together with some Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

As you can see here, there is plenty of room to express your sentiment on the inside.  Oh, and did you catch how I personalized the card with Karen’s name?  I used the “celebrate” sentiment from the Beautiful You Stamp Set, and the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set for her name right below.

Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you will come back and visit me soon for my creative inspiration.  I have the items used on this card listed below, and on the PDF tutorial.  You can visit my online store 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your shopping convenience.  If you need any further details on the card, please do drop me a message and I will get back with you lickity split!
