To Spatter or Not To Splatter?
I began putting my cards together today, after I had stamped the leaf image from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set on my Whisper White Cardstock, and fussy cut all of them yet. Yep, it’s the most relaxing thing for me.
I had the New (coming September 1, 2018 in the Holiday Catalog) Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper sitting at my desk. As I oogled over the gorgeous DSP, I decided to use a piece on my project. I looked at the colors in the DSP pack (Copper Foil, Gray Granite, Merry Merlot, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede Tranquil Tide, and Whisper White), I decided to use with Soft Suede with the DSP I had selected. By the way, this Specialty Paper is gorgeous!. If you don’t have a demonstrator I would l-o-v-e to earn your business, and will be happy to mail you a 2018 Holiday Catalog and the Annual Catalog as well. Just drop me an email, and I will get it out to you lickity split.
I usually make at least two cards when I am designing, so I cut two of each piece as I decide what to use. As you can see here, I used the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies for my leaves and sentiment to sit on. I sponged around the Soft Suede Card Layer and cut piece with some Soft Suede Classic Ink, and one of my Sponge Daubers.
Next, I stamped my sentiment one a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and yes, fussy cut around the words. I punched a piece of Vellum Cardstock with the Tailored Tag Punch. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the sentiment then adhered it to the Vellum Cardstock on this card. On my second card I glued the sentiment directly to the Vellum Cardstock, and I think I like it popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals better.
After I was done adding my leaves with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, I looked at my card and felt it needed something. So I started assembling card number two. I looked at card number one, and thought, what does it need? Then it hit, some fun splatter! Yes, that is exactly what it needs. So “before” I began assembling my second card, I used my Aqua Painter, a Clear Block, Soft Suede Reinker, and gave my Soft Suede Cardstock a splatter!
Ok, I felt much better about the card after I was done splattering. All it took was “one” drop of Reinker, that’s it! Oh, the last little thing I did, was add some Wink of Stella to all my leaves. I think it makes your colors come to life!
So what do you think to Splatter or Not To Splatter? Be sure and leave me a comment as I plan to share both of these cards with YOU, my fabulous Blog family! Yep, just leave me a comment, and I will have the Random Integrator Pick two folks to receive one of these cards. I will pick the names by Sunday, August 12, 2018 and post your names here on my blog. Can’t wait to read your thoughts.
Remember, the Blended Seasons Bundle is “while supplies last”. and I hear this is really going fast, so please don’t wait, I don’t want to see you disappointed, then paying a bundle trying to find one later. It happens every year, trust me.
I have included all the items I used on this card below for your shopping convenience, and as always I also have a supply list you can easily download.
Thank you so very much for visiting with me today, and I hope I have inspired you to go create something beautiful and send it on its way.
