NEW Geared Up Garage

Another dear friend has a birthday day, as a matter of fact, it’s the husband of my friend who had a birthday yesterday, and the card I posted her birthday card using the NEW Piece of Cake Stamp Set.  And guess what?  Tomorrow is their wedding anniversary!  Wow, get it all knocked out for the year in 3 short days! lol

As always, card details below.

Classic Garage

I know this card has a lot going on and I thought about removing some items from it, but after my hubby saw it, he really liked it and said please don’t change it, so I left it alone.

Now, onto the card.  I am really happy Stampin’ Up! created this for masculine (in my humble opinion) cards/projects.  The Geared Up Garage bundle comes with everything you need to create fun projects including the stamp set, Geared Gears Thinlit Dies, Classic Garage DSP, Classic Garage Metal Elements (so stinkin’ cute too), Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon, and Classic Garage Cardstock Pack!  Love, love, love!!!

So the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ DSP has some great images, including the map piece I used on this card.  I think you are really going to like this ENTIRE bundle.  It’s so much fun, including the cute little wrench and card key included in the Classic Garage Metal Elements.

I tried to create the look of the card “crashing out” of the card by the Classic Garage DSP, and punch the DSP with the Starburst Punch, then adhering it to the Basic Black Cardstock layer.  What do you think, did I accomplish it?

Oh, and don’t forget the inside of the card to give it a “finished look”.  I always like to carry on the look using some type of element from the front of the card onto the inside. 🙂

  1. You have made an amazing card! Really nice!

  2. I love your card, but I can’t figure out how you got a car that is going the opposite direction of the stamp. I thought maybe the DSP, but they are all black. Did you mirror image stamp it?

    • Hi Joyce, thank you for your kind comment. YES, I did the reverse image by stamping on my Silicone Mat, then rubbing my cardstock over the top of the image, being very careful not to move my cardstock so I wouldn’t get a blurry image.

      • Thank you for your quick reply! I’ll have to try that technique I appreciate the “how to”!

        • I did it! I was able to use my Stamparatus and stamp and rub the cardstock twice to get a darker image. I also was able to use my led tracing pad to line up the car framelit on the back of the cardstock, usng washi tape to hold it in place. No hand cutting, woohoo! Thanks again!
