Spooktacular Bash Snow Globe
Who says the Snow Globe Shaker Domes are only for snow and Christmas? Not this girl, Ha! I love to think outside the box when using my Stampin’ Tools/Product and this card idea was no different.
I had created my team swaps last week and still had the box of Snow Globe Shaker Domes on my desk space I had used last week. Another idea I had was to create a sponged background and then decided to create a Halloween Card project, that’s how my brain works.
Sponged Background
As I mentioned, I felt like sponging something today, so I used some Pool Party, Melon Mambo, and Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink with my Stampin’ Sponges, and my current “secret sauce”, some Glycerine! I have a video HERE showing you awesome this little ingredient helps my backgrounds turn out fabuloso! You can’t see the background well on the card, so so I included a separate photo.
I cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock at 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, and scored at 4-1/4″. I cut a separate piece of Basic Black Cardstock at 4-1/8″ X 5-3/8″, using the Snow Globe Scenes Die, I cut out the opening for my snow globe dome. Next, I embossed the cardstock using the Stylish Scross Embossing Folder.
TIP – Cut the Snow Globe opening first then emboss do you don’t “flatten” the raised embossing.
I adhered my sponged piece of cardstock to the “Card Base, added my Dracula and Mummy using dimensionals to my sponged background as well as my Woven Threads Sequin Assortment in a nice little pile. Next, the Snow Globe Shaker Dome to the embossed layered piece by removing the top layer release paper, once it’s was on my embossed layered piece, I removed the backing from the “back of the dome” and adhered it over the pile of goodies on my Basic Black Card Base. Let me know if you need a video or downloadable tutorial.
I used the Snow Globe Scenes Dies to cut the Cooper Foil Paper, then cut the detailed piece that goes on top with Basic Black Cardstock. I added the bottom with the amazing NEW Black Stampin’ Dimensionals (gosh I hope they carry over!). I punched those cute little bats using the To Every Season Punch Pack and added them with some Mini Glue Dots. I added some tiny eyes using my Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
As I like to do, I carried the theme on the inside of my card by cutting a piece of 4″ X 5-1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock, stamped the cute images and sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set and adhered it to the inside of my card. And, it’s done!
