Woven Heirlooms Sympathy
How many of my creative crafty friends have a hard time creating a single layer card? Yep, I raise my hand very high to that question. If you’ve visited me these last few weeks, I have been on a sponging role, and since my daughter asked me to make a Sympathy card for her husband’s boss’s wife at work, (so sad, his boss was killed in an accident, please send prayers, God knows who this is, thanks), she asked for something simple yet pretty. Hey, no problem right? Yeah not, I’m a layer it up kinda girl, however, I was determined to create what she asked for, and this is what I came up with. Yes, I made several because as long as I’m pulling out my supplies, let’s make some extra’s, right?

Sponge It Baby
First I started by cutting both a couple of pieces of Thick Whisper White and Very Vanilla Cardstock at 5-1/2″ X 8-1/2″ and scored them at 4-1/4″. Next, I used some pieces of my Post-It-Note Pad which I tore to create a rough edge and added them to the card base front as shown in my photo above.
Oh did I mention the Purple Posy Classic Ink and Refill are available as of today! Hallelujah! So I decided I would make a project using the Purple Posy Classic Ink and I brought in my secret weapon for the sponging technique, Glycerin (check out my video HERE), my Silicone Craft Mat, and Stampin’ Sponge which I always cut into quarters and attach a piece of coordinating cardstock on top using Circle Tap Punch. I created two cards using this color, then switched to Balmy Blue Classic Ink to create two more of a different color.

Once I was done sponging, the beautiful reveal, ah, made me happy! I love how it looked like a torn paper all around the front. I stamped my sentiment in Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink from the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set and decided it needed just a little something, so I pulled out my Beauty Abounds Stamp Set and used that cute flourish image. I sprinkled a few little Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

The inside needed to be just a “little” something, something, so I stamped the same flourish image on the inside. What do you think?
