Sailing Home Birthday

I needed a masculine birthday card for a dear friend, I pulled out the Sailing Home Stamp Set Bundle and began to pull together my card.

Masculine cards are always a challenge for me, so it took a minute to pull this simple card together (don’t ask, lol).

I began with a 4-1/4″ X 11″ piece of Night of Navy Cardstock, which I scored at 5-1/2″.  Using some Night of Navy Classic Ink, I stamped the compass from the Sailing Home Stamp Set directly onto my cardstock base.

I cut a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock at 3-1/2″ X 4-1/2″, then added a 3″ X 4″ piece of coordinating Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.  I used the Sahara Sand and Night of Navy Baker’s Twine and wrapped it around my center panel.  Using some Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added my panel to the front of my card.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set with Night of Navy Classic Ink and added a small layer to my sentiment of Balmy Blue Cardstock.  I added it to my front panel with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the anchor from the Sail Away Trinkets and adhered underneath the knot on the front of my card panel with Mini Glue Dots.

Using some Whisper White Cardstock, I cut a panel using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I stamped the larger sailboat in the Sailing Home Stamp Set with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink on yet another scrap piece of Whisper White.  I die the sailboat with the coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies.  I adhered the Stitched So Sweetly die cut piece with SNAIL Adhesive and then the sailboat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside, I cut a 4″ X 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and added a 1/2″ X 4″ piece of coordinating Come Sail Away DSP, and then a 1/4″ X 4″ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock over the top of the DSP.  I adhered the entire panel inside the card using more SNAIL Adhesive.

I like how the card came together, and have decided to create several more for future birthdays.
