Senior Years

I have a couple of masculine birthdays coming up in September, and a few are, let’s just say in the “senior” category…. 🙂

When I saw the Senior Years Stamp Set in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog I knew exactly who would be receiving a card with this fun stamp set.

Annual Catalog Inspiration

When I saw the card created by our Stampin’ Up artist, I thought this is a perfect and beautiful layout, so I CASED it!  The photo and stamp set can be found on pg. 107 of the Annual Catalog.   The card illustrated is a 5″ x 5″ card, but I wanted mine to be a standard A2 size card (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″).

I started with Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  I used the Subtles 2020-2021 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper for my first layer and used the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I added a 3-3/4″ x 2″ piece of Color Cinnamon Cider Velveteen Cardstock, which I trimmed out using the same Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered it to my first layer using my Stampin’ Seal+ Adhesive.  I added the Early Espresso 1/4″ Faux Suede Trim to my layer “before” I added it to my Balmy Blue Cardstock base.  I also added one of the Antiqued Corners & Slides Embellishments to make it look like a belt. 

I stamped the male image on a 3″ x 2-1/4″ piece of  Whisper White Cardstock.  I colored my image with Balmy Blue, Cinnamon Cider, Ivory, Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blend Markers Combos.   I cut the image out with my Layering Oval Dies.  I adhered the image to my card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the greetings from the Senior Years Stamp Set on a piece of Soft Seaform cardstock with Early Espresso Classic Ink.  Cut the greeting down to 3/8″ x 2-1/4″ strips and adhered them with my Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. 

I used two of the white dots from the All the Trimmings Embellishments, which I colored using the Bronze Stampin’ Blend to mimic the buttons on a shirt.  Lastly, I added a  4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock on the inside of my card.  I called this project done!
