Hey, Chick
I am so happy the Hey, Chick, and Hey Birthday Chick Bundles are available now, so you can partake in the fun as well.
I decided today my project would be a Slimline Card, I wanted to share several of those adorable chickens.
I have three layers going on, a Gray Granite cardstock Base cut at 8-1/2″ x 7-1/2″, score at 3-1/2. My second layer is a 3″ x 8″ Blushing Bride cardstock layer, and my third layer is a 3-1/8″ x 8-1/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock.
Layering Circles Dies
I used the Layering Circles Dies on the Basic Black cardstock piece and cut several size holes around it. I took my Silicone Craft Mat and dropped several drops of the Whisper White Craft Ink Refill and then a few drops of water. I mixed it together using one of the brushes from my Water Paints set. Once it was nicely mixed, I ensure I had my Water Paint Brush fully saturated with the ink and tapped it on my finger to create those splotches. I set it aside to dry while I worked on stamping my chicks from the Hey, Chick, and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets.
I used my Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends to color them in. Then I used the coordinating Chick Dies and Birthday Chick Dies to cut these cuties out.
Now that my splotched Basic Black cardstock was dry, I added a piece of 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Window Sheet on the large circle using my Tear N Tape adhesive, then added a layer of Foam Adhesive Strips around the opening, added some fun sequins, and placed the Blushing Bride piece I had previously cut over the back.
I added these layers to my Gray Granite cardstock base. I stamped the sentiments from the Hey, Chick, and Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Sets on a couple of pieces of scrap Basic White cardstock and hand-cut them with my super-sharp Paper Snips. I added the sentiments to the front of my project with some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
This was so much fun to create, I plan on using this type of card using the Zany Zebra’s and Way to Goat Stamp Steps too. What other stamps would you use on a project like this?
