Create your own Faux Books
My friends over at Splitcoastampers asked me to share with you a totally unique project for you today! It’s Faux Farmhouse Stacked Books, which are all the rage if you like farmhouse decor, and I certainly do!!
Typically you need to find 3 to 4 books that are very close in size, then prep them to accept paint, etc. The ones I am sharing with you today require only a few supplies! I think you will enjoy creating these cuties and there are so many variations.
I have created one for my DIL, which has the kids’ first names, and then the month, day, and the year they were born. Let your imagination run wild.
Supplies used
As I mentioned the supplies are minimal, I used a mini wood crate from Dollar Tree, you can also go online at dollartree.com to find them if you don’t have one near you. Stampin’ Write Markers, Thick Basic White Cardstock, Paper Trimmer, Liquid Glue, Sahara Sand Classic Ink, Stampin’ Sponge (quartered), His Love Stamp Set, and various ribbons.
Oh did I mention I have a FREE downloadable PDF and Video for you today? Yes, I do!
All Occasions
There are so many occasions you can create these cuties for, here are just a few examples of ones I created. Again, all using cardstock to cover my crates. You can also use paint if you prefer the painted look, the sky is the limit here folks.
You can use your letters die cuts, words die cuts, stickers, e-cutter, vinyl, or just plain markers to create anything you want your books to convey.
Doodling works too
As you can see, I doodled a few carrots, the lettering, and whimsical little markings on this stack of “books”. Now I am by no means an artist, so please keep it nice, lol. Just giving you some alternative ideas.

WOW! This is a fabulous idea Gloria! I’ve been making the tiered trays and sometimes you need something to be up higher. This is the perfect thing. I tried to leave a comment on your video, but all it would let me type was WOW!
