Birds & Branches

Today I used the Birds & Branches Bundle on this cute little birdhouse card.  It was so stinkin’ easy to pull together because the dies and Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder practically did all the work for me.

I started out with my usual 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  I measured 2-1/8″ across the top (the halfway mark on my card), and placed a tiny pencil mark.  I lined up the pencil mark on the cutting grid of my Paper Trimmer and angled the other side to the 1-1/4″ mark and cut.  Then I did the same thing on the other side.  This created the top of my birdhouse.  I used the second to the smallest circle die from the Stitched Shaped Dies to create the hole in my birdhouse.    I ran the front of my card through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder to lots of texture to my project.

To create the roof, I used the two pieces of cardstock I could out for the roof, to ensure I had a nice and neat mitered rooftop.

The Branches & Leaves

I used a previously stamped piece of 2″ X 8-1/2″ Crumb Cake Cardstock to cut out my branches.  I used my Sponge Dauber to color in the leaves with Old Olive Classic Ink.  I added my branches to my card front with some Multipurpose Liquid Glue ensuring I didn’t stick it all down and allowed some of the leaves to loose in order to give my project added texture.

I cut the bird from the Birds & More Dies with Whisper White Cardstock, then used my Sponge Dauber and some Balmy Blue Classic Ink to color in my bird.  I used the edge of my Sponge Dauber to create some Texture on my bird.  The beak is colored in with So Saffron.  I kept the little die cut eye (had to keep a close eye on it, almost lost it 3 times, lol), and colored it in with my Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  I added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the bird’s eye area and stuck it over my little black eye.  I used some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to strategically place my little bird on the branches.

I stamped the sentiment from the Field of Flowers Stamp Set on a 1/2″ Strip of Whisper White Cardstock with Early Espresso Classic Ink and trimmed it down to size. I added to my project with the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, I sprinkled some 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (the Magenta Madness color) on my branches.  I called this project done!
