Mountain Air
I saw a photo on the internet and tried to replicate it on my card. This card is for one of my favorite people in the world, Ms. Mary Clarke. Bless her heart, she was in the hospital this weekend and her condition scared us to death. So like I always say, hug the ones you love, none of us are promised tomorrow!
Ink Colors I Used
I used lots of different ink colors for my background, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Terracotta Tile, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Crushed Curry Classic Ink for my sky.
I used my Sponge Daubers to sponge my sky and my favorite secret weapon, glycerine!
I cut a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock I cut at 3-3/4″ X 4-1/4″ using my Stampin’ Trimmer. I inked up the long mountain piece from the Mountain Air Stamp Set with some Misty Moonlight Classic Ink and stamped my mountainscape. As you can see from the photo I left a small gap between both mountains. I punched a 3/4″ piece of post-it-note paper and added it between the mountains. I started sponging my sky starting from the top to the mountain tops as shown in the photo above, so I first sponged some Misty Moonlight right around the top of the card, a little more on each corner. Then I sponged Balmy Blue, slightly coloring up into the Misty Moonlight. Up next was Melon Mambo, Terracotta Tile, and Crushed Curry Classic Inks. The last thing on my sky was I very gingerly sponged some Daffodil Delight Classic Ink to the sun it wouldn’t be so stark when I removed my 3/4″ circle post-it-note piece of paper. I stamped the cute birds with some Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I stamped the trees from the Mountain Air Stamp Set with some Mossy Meadow Classic Ink. I then inked up only the bottom piece of the tree (they look like little squiggles) with some more ink and continued stamping to the end of the cardstock. I used my Clear Wink of Stella smudge the green all around. The photo that gave me inspiration had little orange type prickly sticks sticking up and some small flowers on it, so I used the My Meadow Stamp Set to create them. The pricklies I did with Terracotta Tile Classic Ink, and flowers and leaves are stamped with Old Olive Classic Ink, Balmy Blue, and Misty Moonlight Classic Inks.
I mounted my panel on a piece of Terracotta Tile Cardstock I cut at 4″ X 4-1/2″ with some NEW Stampin’ Seal+ Adhesive. I used my Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to my Misty Moonlight Cardstock card base cut at 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I stamped the sentiment from the His Love Stamp Set using some Mossy Meadow Classic Ink on a piece of 5/8″ X 3″ Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and mounted it on a piece of 3/4″ X 3-1/8″ piece of Terracotta Tile Cardstock, and also mounted it on my card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Lastly, for the inside, I cut a piece of 4″ X 5-1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the tree images on the inside with some Old Olive Classic Ink. I stamped it three (3) times without reinking.
