Rooted In Nature
One of our neighbors lost his son (so heartwrenching) this week, and out subdivision is pulling together sympathy cards and meals for them. Hubby and I decided to donate a gift card along with a sympathy card. If you feel led, please pray for the Digby family.
My card starts with a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock cut at 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I sponged a piece of 4-1/4″ X 5-1/2″ piece of Shimmery White Cardstock using my favorite method (glycerine), Old Olive, Rococo Rose, Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, and a Sponge Dauber. I trimmer the sponged piece to a 4″ X 4-1/4″. I also cut a piece of the In Good Taste DSP using the 4th from the largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper onto my sponged panel using Stampin’ Seal+ Adhesive. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the panel and tied a bow on the left side. I added some Seal+ to the back panel of my layer and adhered it to the Thick Whisper White card base.
I stamped the tree image from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set on a piece of Shimmery Cardstock, as well as the sentiment. I used my Old Olive and Early Espresso Ink for my tree, and Early Espresso Ink for the sentiment. I used the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies to cut out the tree, and I used my Paper Snips to cut out the sentiment.
I also used my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker to add some details on the tree. I adhered the tree and the sentiment to my card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a few strips of the leftover pieces I had trimmed off my Shimmery Cardstock panel and added them to the inside of my card.
