Slimline Butterfly Gala
I was in the mood for another Slimline card, so I went with it. I hadn’t used my Butterfly Beauty Dies, so I thought I would use them today. I also had an extra piece of previously colored 100 Fluid Watercolor Paper I had leftover from a post I did where I used the Beautiful Autumn Bundle, you can see that post HERE.
My card base is cut at 8-1/2″ x 7″ using Crushed Curry cardstock, which I scored at 3-1/2″ on the 7″ side. My second Whisper White cardstock layer is cut at 3-1/2″ X 8-1/2″. I used my favorite method of sponging, which is glycerin, ink, and a Sponge Dauber, you can see my tutorial for using glycerin with your sponging HERE. I used some Balmy Blue Classic Ink, glycerin, and a Sponge Dauber to add some light blue on the Whisper White cardstock layer.
Before I cut the detailed Basic Black butterfly layer, I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of the cardstock, then ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This made “so easy” to just peel the backing off and add it over my cut Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. No fussing with messy glue. I love easy!
Next, I played with how I wanted my butterflies to lay on the front of my card base. Using my very sharp Paper Snips, I separated the butterflies and added them to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, and used the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut it out. I added the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I sprinkled one of my favorite embellishments in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog on my card, the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
I had a couple of extra butterfly pieces I added to my inside Whisper White cardstock layer, which was cut at 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″. This project will easily fit into a standard #10 business envelope.
