Mini Slimline

You know I really like the slimline/tall cards, so I decided today I would create a Mini Slimline card.  I hadn’t created a Halloween card for my only granddaughter yet, but I knew when I did, I was going to use the Flight of Fancy Stamp Set.  I just love those cute little characters!  I have measurements for you at the bottom of this post:-)

Banner Year

I use the greeting from the Banner Year Stamp Set, from the New August – December 2020 Mini Catalog.  This is such a versatile stamp set, it covers several holidays.  I stamped the sentiment with my Versamark ink pad and sprinkled Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then heat set it with my Heat Tool.

Flight of Fancy

I stamped the cute witch on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored in the witch image with my Blackberry Bliss, Soft Suede, and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

I fussy cut the image out with my Paper Snips.  I created the clouds for my project by cutting a piece of  Whisper White cardstock at 1-/34″ x 6″, then used my Paper Snips to create the wave for my clouds.  I lightly sponged my clouds with some Mango Melody Classic ink and a Stampin’ Sponge.

Sky Background

I sponged the sky background using my favorite glycerine technique because it provides a flawless finish.  Here I used my Blackberry Bliss ink pad, glycerine, Stampin’ Sponge, on my Silicone Mat.  Once I had it all mixed, I then gently tapped a little bit off before going on to my Thick Whisper White Cardstock base to sponge my sky, leaving the center of the card empty.  I did the same process only using Mango Melody ink for the moon at the center of my project.

Using my Silicone Mat, I spritzed a couple of drops of water, then added some Frost White Shimmer Paint with my Water Painters (medium size), mixed it up a bit then sprinkled it on my sky background.

I added my little witch with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Lastly, I added some Snowflake Sequins to the sky for a little more pizzazz.  🙂

Project Measurements:

Thick Whisper White cardstock – 7″ x 6″, scored at 3-1/2″ on the 7″ side

Whisper White cardstock –  1-3/4″ x 6″ = clouds, 2-1/4″ x 4″ = witch
